If there was one thing about being a rich girl living in Miami, it was most certainly the freedom that it brought on. Felicity Lehmann was able to come and go as she pleased from her parents guest house. Ever since she had started college, they gave her free reign of the guest house so that she'd be able to go to school and still live at home as a free adult. Her parents had still given her an added bonus towards her spending limit as they did every summer, but Felicity still hadn't even come close to it. She liked her designer duds, but the girl couldn't shop all day long, unless she was looking for something in particular. Although, after being dragged around the shopping district with a few friends that morning, Felicity had gotten an invitation to volleyball on the beach by a few friends. She gladly accepted the invitation and went straight there. It was June, so the female was always wearing her bathing suit under her dress, skirt, or shorts, so she never had to go home to change first.
When the female arrived on the beach, she saw a bunch of familiar faces, so she was happy with her decision. Taking her sun dress off, Felicity dropped it on top of her flip flops once she had stepped out of them and went over to her friends as they began picking teams.

It was a surprise that Marcus didn't have a sunburn after all the time he had been spending outside that day. First thing that morning, his uncle had called him and his brother up to see if they were willing to help do some yard work. Marcus was always ready to help family so for four hours, he and his two younger brothers mowed, tugged, and clipped every part of the yard at their uncle's house.
After enjoying some homemade iced tea from his aunt, Marcus got a text on his phone from a group of his friends. Now, Marcus' family was wealthy but he was one to work for what he wanted. He didn't necessarily hate the other rich folks in Miami but he certainly wasn't going to act like a spoiled brat like a lot of them would.
Marcus was certainly not one to pass up volleyball with his friends though so he told them he could be there in an hour. The male headed home almost immediately to take a shower and get changed into his swim trunks. After doing so, he took his car and drove to the beach. Once arriving, he saw one or two friends who told him more would be on their way. Sure enough, within the half hour, more people showed up, including Felicity. The girl that Marcus was in love with. They were friends, sure but he had had deeper feelings for her for quite some time now.
The six foot male just smiled at her and they began to pick teams. Marcus was captain for one so of course people would think he'd choose Felicity to be on his team. But he was smart. He knew some friendly competition would spark a conversation between them. He walked over to where the others were and walked towards Felicity like he was going to choose her then chose the guy standing next to her.
A few more minutes went by before the game could actually begin. They did a coin flip to see who would play first and Marcus' team was chosen to serve. Marcus wasn't one to serve so he positioned himself front and center, right where he could see Felicity. "You ready for a smack down sweetheart?" he said jokingly and grinned at the blond.

As soon as Felicity has dropped her dress on top of her flip flops near everyone else's things, the female went over to the group of people and began talking amongst them.
Soon enough, it was time to figure out teams and captains. Felicity was offered a position to be captain, but she gladly refused it. She knew that if the team she had picked lost, they'd blame her and then she'd have to pay for lunch or dinner for all of her teammates and the girl honestly didn't like having to pay for anyone when it was a team loss. Therefore, she passed on the offer and let someone else take on the title.
Once the teams had been picked and the group turned into two teams, someone grabbed the volleyball from the pile of stuff while the two captains tossed a coin to determine who was going to serve first.
When it had been decided that the opposing team was going to serve first, everyone set up to where they wanted to start off. Felicity decided that being in the front row and in the center, the same spot that Marcus had decided but just on the opposite side of the net. When he spoke to her, Felicity couldn't help but smile. "I don't think so pretty boy," the bubbly blonde spoke. "I think it's you that's going to get a smack down," Felicity spoke.
About twenty minutes into the game, the score was closer than close and everyone seemed to be having a fun time and enjoying themselves. Although, the next thing that Felicity knew was that she had seen her teammate, one of her former best friend's allies, hit the ball directly at her. The first few seconds that it took for Felicity to fall to the sand, her face didn't hurt. Though, it wasn't much longer after that, that the pain hit Felicity and she felt the automatic tears fall from her eyes. The pain was excruciating, but she kept herself from crying. That was the last thing that she wanted to do in front of the girl that was sent to be a spy.
Walking away from the group of people and away from the game, Felicity grabbed her dress and flip flops and started walking away. She didn't want to be near the girl anymore, because she knew that she would have lost her temper and ended up either saying or doing something that she would later on regret.

The game was actually going a lot better than had been expected. Everyone was in a good nature and with the sun beating down on them, this group was happy to get as much tanning in as they could. Marcus didn't purposely tan. He just spent a lot of time outside. He was cooped up in the office all day when he was at work so every chance he got to be outside, he took it.
In his mind, after about twenty minutes, he was thanking whoever that no one had gotten hurt. It was just then that a girl from his team sent a spike over the net that was directly aimed at Felicity. The next thirty seconds or so was in slow motion for Marcus. He watched as the ball hit Felicity and she went down. His moving towards her felt like someone was holding him back as he tried to go towards her. In fact, someone was holding him back, the girl who had spiked the ball. Her grin was malicious and Marcus knew that this girl was no friend of Felicity's.
After Felicity stood up, time seemed to resume it's normal pace. Marcus pulled away from the girl but not before getting in her face. "You better watch yourself. You're fighting an army of people who would die for her," he told her through gritted teeth. "She has no one. She's a loner and a skank,"
[/i] the girl said to Marcus' back because he had already turned around to walk away from the game. Marcus knew about Felicity and his now ex girlfriend having a huge falling out. Someone once told him it was about him and in a way that made him feel really bad. He had loved Felicity right along but even though he knew he had no chance with her, he dated her best friend. That right there was a huge mistake and he should have known that. Now as the male approached Felicity in a small jog, he spoke to her calmly. "Drew, wait," he told her as he caught up to her and grabbed her arm, stopping her. He pulled him around to face her. "Are you okay?" he asked simply.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

After Felicity has gathered her things, she began walking away. Although, as she made her way growing further from the group of friends, she heard her name being called. Well, her middle name at least. She liked her first name and all, but Felicity preferred it when people had called her Drew instead. It kind of also made her feel more sophisticated and less like a child, since most adults heard her name and thought of her as nothing but a spoiled brat.
Hearing her name, Felicity just kept on walking. But, it wasn't until someone had grabbed her arm and turned her around that she was forced to stop walking.
When she was turned around, Felicity looked up to see none other than Marcus. When she heard what he had said, Felicity just looked at him, blood still coming out of her nose. "Does it look like I'm okay, Marcus?" she asked, a bit heated. She didn't mean to take things out on him, but she couldn't help it. Her patience were wearing thin because of her ex best friend, especially when she had sent her cronies to do her dirty work.
Sighing softly, Felicity looked to Marcus with apologetic eyes. "I'm sorry, I just-," the girl began. "My face really hurts and I'm pretty sure that my nose is broken," she spoke. "It seems like your girlfriend is still trying to break us up," Felicity spoke, knowing the real situation between the three of them. She knew that Marcus wasn't dating his ex anymore, but it seemed like she hadn't quite realized that. And even though Felicity and Marcus hadn't even gone on a date with each other, she was still willing to try and keep them apart. "I just want to go home," Felicity said.

Marcus' face dropped in saddening a bit when she snapped at him. He let go of her arm and turned his gaze towards the ground where he realized he hadn't put his sandals back on. He mentally shrugged but then made to turn around to go back to get them. It was then that Felicity's words became softer.
Marcus turned his attention back to her and watched her. Her nose was bleeding pretty badly so the male quickly took a napkin from his pocket. Yes, he kept napkins in his swim trunks. Why? Because you never know when something is going to get cut by the reefs or you have to blow your nose. Normally, Marcus doesn't plan for anything but when it comes to hygeine, he does.
He handed her the napkin as she finished speaking, telling him that she just wanted to go home. Marcus let a few moments of silence pass as he thought of something to say to her. He knew that the real reason that girl was there was because of his ex but he was feeling guilty already. "Hey, why don't I take you to the hospital so you can get your nose checked out," he suggested, pointing to his car that wasn't parked too far away. "Then if you want, I'll take you back here so you can get your car to go home," the male further explained.

Looking up to Marcus, Felicity actually felt bad about snapping at him. She knew that he hadn't intended on his teammate spiking the ball into her face on purpose; he was just sort of there for the ride as the events unfolded. Though, she could see that he was sorry enough for himself and the other girl that it had happened, so the blonde couldn't blame him or snap at him again; she wouldn't allow herself to.
When the male handed her a napkin of some sort, she gratefully took it from him and tried to wipe her face off a bit. It was definitely painful and sore, so she had to be careful with the amount of pressure that she had applied to her face as she cleaned it up a bit.
While she was cleaning up her face from the blood, Marcus suggested that he take her to the hospital to get her nose checked out.
Smiling up at the male, Felicity nodded her head lightly. "That would be pretty awesome of you," she spoke. "Then I don't have to worry about trying to focus on the road and keeping myself from looking like a murderer with all the blood on my clothes," she said. "And you can just take me home after the hospital, I don't really want to drive after a hit like that to the face. Plus, my mother is probably going to want to call up a surgeon so that my pretty little nose stays perfect," she said, rolling her eyes. "I can just send someone to get my car later on," Felicity spoke.
Seeing that the napkin that she had in her hand was almost completely red, the girl looked into her friend's eyes, "Um, you wouldn't happen to have another one of these, would you?" she questioned.

Marcus watched as Felicity wiped her face of the blood. Her slight cringes told him that it was super sensitive, most definitely broken. As the female responded with a smile to his suggestion of taking her to the hospital, he smiled back at her. Marcus was a helpful friend. Always had been. His parents weren't like that though. If there wasn't something in it for them, they didn't want to help. Or they'd always be expecting something back. Not Marcus.
He let out a soft chuckle after the female explained how she didn't want to drive and how her mother would want to call a surgeon. "Even with a messed up nose, you'd be perfect. Your mother is too paranoid over nothing," he told her, complimenting his friend. It wasn't soon after that Felicity asked for another napkin. Marcus looked to the one she had, seeing it bloodsoaked, and reached in his pocket for another one. Finding one in the opposite pocket that he had found the first, he handed it to her.
"Here," he said as she took it from his hand. "I'm gonna go grab my sandals really quick. Don't run off on me okay?" he said jokingly with a soft chuckle as he turned around and did a slight jog to where he had taken off his sandals. The male quickly slipped them onto his bare feet then jogged back over to Felicity. "Ready?" he asked as he walked with Felicity to his car.

Once Marcus had handed her a new tissue, this one from a different pocket, she thanked him and brought the new one to her nose. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you were either expecting this to happen or you were going to use these for something else later on," the blonde spoke, cracking a playful grin.
When Marcus commented on her being perfect, regardless of how her nose looked. "My mother is psychotic," she said. "She expects my sister and I to be perfect little dolls," the blonde spoke. Though, after Marcus had walked away from her to grab his sandals, Felicity couldn't help but mumble under her breath about him. "Why do you have to be so perfect?"
When Marcus returned to her, this time with his shoes, she followed him to his car and got in on the passenger side.
It wasn't long before they had arrived at the hospital and Felicity had sent her mother a text telling her that she had gotten hurt during a volleyball game and that she would be home before dinner so that they could have a family dinner, as per usual. Her family, minus her sister in person but rather via skype, had dinner together every single night.
After spending more than an hour at the hospital, Felicity and Marcus had learned that her nose had indeed been broken. Although, the young male doctor had set her nose back into place and slipped her his number in the process, then went on his way to his next patient in waiting. As they walked back out into the real world where the sun was shining brightly and the air was still super hot, Felicity looked back up to Marcus, shielding her eyes from the sun's bright rays and spoke, "Do you mind just taking me home? It's been a long day and I don't really feel like sitting in midday Miami traffic."
Once the pair had made it back to Felicity's house, she instructed Marcus to drive up the driveway that lead to the backyard, instead of in the half circle in front of the main house. The part of the driveway that had gone straight back was the one that the Lehmann's had put in so that their daughter wouldn't have to walk from the front driveway late at night to the guest house. They wanted her to be safe from any and all danger in the dead of night.
Getting out of the car when it was parked, Felicity bent down and looked at Marcus. "I don't want to be alone right now and I have chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen as a partial thank you," she spoke. Leaning into the car, the blonde quickly turned the car off and pulled the keys from the ignition, "And you can't say no, either."
Standing up straight again, Felicity walked over to the guest house and opened the door to let herself in. She left the door open so that Marcus could follow her inside whenever he decided to join her.

Felicity's comment made Marcus shrug and grin back at her. They both knew that it wasn't true that he was expecting this to happen. "I don't prepare for much but colds and nosebleeds," he told her with a wink. Hearing Felicity's next string of words about her mother wanting her and her sister to be perfect little dolls, Marcus frowned a bit. His parents didn't want him to a Barbie doll but a Ken doll, maybe.
Driving to the hospital, the pair were oddly quiet. A few little conversations popped up about the weather and the sun and that stupid girl who had hit Felicity with the ball. Nothing really special for conversation starters. When they arrived, Marcus helped Felicity check in since she was still dabbing her nose every few seconds.
It took only about an hour before Felicity was released but Marcus had stayed by her side the whole time. He didn't really ask her to go into the room with her but she had kind of looked back at him, almost expecting him to go in with her. The cracking sound made Marcus himself cringe a bit but it seemed to make Felicity feel better. He saw the young male doctor slip her a piece of paper and knew that it was his number. Marcus felt a surge of jealousy but kept it hidden.
As the pair left the hospital, Felicity asked Marcus to just bring her home. It's not like he didn't know where she lived. They had been neighbors longer than they had actually known each other. The male nodded and drove to her house.
Once there, Felicity told him to drive down the long driveway to the back of the house. He did as she told him and once the car was parked, Felicity got out. Then she leaned down and grabbed the keys out of the ignition. That surprised Marcus. Her suggestion of cookies as a thank you was going to make him get out anyways but her taking his keys and walking away made him think that she didn't want him to leave anyways. What did that mean? Did she like him? Or was she just intent on giving him a thank you?
The male soon followed Felicity into the guest house. He had only ever been here when there were parties so it was oddly quiet for him this time around. He walked over to Felicity and smiled at her. "I can smell the cookies. Where are they?" he asked and playfully started to sniff like a bloodhound searching for a rabbit.
